I would like to share with you information about our 2018 High School Summer Program
(Aug. 1-9) in Japan in case any of your students may be interested.
TUJ invites high school students to a summer of language and cultural experiences in
dynamic Tokyo. The 8-night program includes a unique mix of Japanese language classes
and one of four exciting electives (Business, Art, Film or Intl. Affairs). With field-trips in
Tokyo, an overnight excursion to Nikko, and a trip to DisneySea, this will be their Tokyo
story to remember.

Bunts-Anderson, Villarmero win App Challenge
Twenty two students from the Northern Marianas entered this year's Congressional App
Challenge, competing as individuals or teams of up to four. Thirteen apps were submitted
with selection of the winning entries made by tech industry experts. From these
submissions, The Student Companion, by Daniel Villarmero and Chenoa Bunts-Anderson
of Marianas High School, was chosen as this year’s winner. Mount Carmel School
students Joanie Paraiso, Tawnie Manibusan and Cassidy Torres took second and third
place for their apps The Thought Bubble and Pocket Homework, respectively. The App
Challenge is open to all elementary and secondary students and is intended to encourage
student creativity and participation in the fields of science, technology, engineering and
mathematics, or STEM.

Join the LEEP PROGRAM (Law Enforcement Explorer Program).
The program offers trainings and many activities including: Assisting Officers in routine
traffic control, participating in range trainings, camping trips, road trips, Officer ride alongs,
Physical activities, etc.
Our MHS SRO OFFICER ERIC CEPEDA encourages all to open up and join as this
program could benefit you in the long run.
